LeadGasket vs Shopmonkey

Shopmonkey is a shop management system: estimates, repair orders, digital inspections, parts and payments, with two-way texting built in. LeadGasket is a front-of-house platform: website, web chat, texting, booking, review requests, campaigns and phones. They overlap in one place, Shopmonkey's CRM Essentials add-on. This page shows where, with prices from each company's own website on October 22, 2026.

The short version

LeadGasket does not replace Shopmonkey. Nothing in LeadGasket writes a repair order, runs a digital inspection, orders parts or takes a payment at the counter. If you run Shopmonkey, you keep it. What LeadGasket competes with is CRM Essentials, the add-on priced at $349 a month per shop that covers online booking, review requests, text and email campaigns, and Concierge, an AI receptionist that answers the calls your team misses.

If you want reviews, campaigns and booking that read your repair orders, plus an AI receptionist in the same system, CRM Essentials is the simpler buy, and for that full set it costs less than LeadGasket (see the price example below). Shopmonkey already includes unlimited two-way texting and appointment reminders in every plan, so texting is not the gap. LeadGasket is the better fit if you want the tools Shopmonkey does not list on its website: a website and funnels, web chat, missed-call text-back, Facebook Messenger in the same inbox, sales pipelines and a social media planner, from $97 a month plus usage. Nothing syncs between the two: your customer list comes over as a spreadsheet, and your front desk adds new LeadGasket customers to Shopmonkey when the car comes in.

Choose CRM Essentials if

  • You want reminders and campaigns that fire from the invoice: declined services, oil-change intervals and customers you have not seen in a while, without entering anything twice.

  • You want an AI receptionist that books straight into your Shopmonkey calendar, included in the add-on at 200 calls a month.

  • You want one system, one customer thread and one support team for the shop floor and the marketing.

  • You mainly market to customers you already have, and they have opted in.

Choose LeadGasket if

  • You want online booking, a website, web chat and missed-call text-back for $97 a month plus usage, instead of $349 for the add-on.

  • You want new-customer tools Shopmonkey does not list on its website: funnels and landing pages, sales pipelines, a social media planner and Facebook Messenger in the same inbox.

  • You want every missed call texted back automatically, on every plan.

  • You want month-to-month terms, a 30-day 110% money-back guarantee and a 45-minute onboarding call.

What each costs, like for like

Monthly list prices from each pricing page on October 22, 2026. Example: a shop on Shopmonkey Basic ($239) that wants online booking, review requests, campaigns and an AI receptionist.

Shopmonkey only

Shopmonkey Basic (repair orders, inspections, unlimited texting): $239

CRM Essentials (booking, review requests, campaigns, Concierge AI receptionist): $349

Per month, per shop: $588

Concierge includes 200 calls a month, unlimited through December 31, 2026. Billed annually, the same set is $529 a month.

Shopmonkey Basic plus LeadGasket

Shopmonkey Basic (repair orders, inspections, unlimited texting): $239

LeadGasket Voice AI plan (everything in Professional plus the AI receptionist): $399

Text, call and email usage (most shops): $20 to $75

Per month: $658 to $713

Without the AI receptionist, Professional at $397 brings it to $656 to $711. Essential at $97 covers booking, the website, web chat and missed-call text-back: $356 to $411 with Basic. Review requests and campaigns start on Professional.

For the full retention set, Shopmonkey's add-on costs less, by about $70 to $125 a month, and it reads your repair orders. LeadGasket costs less when you want the basics: booking, a website, web chat and missed-call text-back on Essential come to $117 to $172 a month with usage, against $349 for CRM Essentials. What LeadGasket adds at any plan level is the new-customer side: funnels, forms, pipelines, Messenger and the social planner.

Running Shopmonkey and LeadGasket together

There is no switch here. Shopmonkey stays. Here is how the two run side by side:

1. Shopmonkey keeps estimates, repair orders, inspections, parts, invoices and payments, and its texting number for repair updates and approvals.

2. Export your customer list from Shopmonkey as a spreadsheet: name, phone and email. We import it on your 45-minute onboarding call and set up your LeadGasket number, booking calendar, website, web chat and missed-call text-back.

3. Decide which number does what. Shopmonkey texts about the repair in front of you; LeadGasket handles web chat, booking, missed calls and marketing to new leads. Customers will see two numbers, so tell them.

4. If you also have CRM Essentials, send review requests and reminders from one system only, so nobody is asked twice.

5. Nothing syncs today. When a customer books or texts through LeadGasket, your front desk adds them to Shopmonkey when the car comes in. Shopmonkey publishes an API and webhooks, so a connection could be built; nobody has built one yet.

What you give up compared with CRM Essentials: reminders fired from the invoice (declined services, oil-change intervals), an AI receptionist that books into your Shopmonkey calendar, and one customer thread for everything. Reminders in LeadGasket run by date, from your calendar or the tags you put on customers.

Questions shops ask

Can LeadGasket replace Shopmonkey?

No. Shopmonkey runs the shop floor: estimates, repair orders, inspections, parts, labor guide, time clock and payments, with texting built in. LeadGasket has none of that. It stands in for CRM Essentials: booking, review requests, campaigns and an AI receptionist, plus a website, web chat, missed-call text-back, funnels, pipelines and a social planner.

Does LeadGasket connect to Shopmonkey?

No. Nothing syncs. Your customer list comes in from a spreadsheet, and new customers are added when they book, text, call or fill out a form. Shopmonkey publishes an API and webhooks for customers, orders, vehicles and inventory, so a connection is possible to build, and LeadGasket has not built one.

Shopmonkey already includes texting. What would LeadGasket add?

Every Shopmonkey plan includes unlimited two-way texting and appointment reminders. LeadGasket adds a website and funnels, web chat, missed-call text-back, Facebook Messenger in the same inbox, forms and surveys, sales pipelines and a social media planner, and online booking at $97 a month instead of inside the $349 add-on. Review requests and campaigns start on Professional, $397 a month.

Is LeadGasket cheaper than CRM Essentials?

It depends on what you want. For booking, review requests, campaigns and an AI receptionist together, no: CRM Essentials is $349 a month with Concierge included, and the LeadGasket plan with the AI receptionist is $399 plus usage. For booking, a website, web chat and missed-call text-back, yes: Essential is $97 a month plus usage, and most shops pay $20 to $75 a month in text, call and email usage.

Does either one answer the phone?

Shopmonkey's Concierge, included with CRM Essentials, answers the calls your team misses, books appointments and transfers calls when needed; your shop number forwards to it. As of October 22, 2026 it includes 200 calls a month, unlimited through December 31, 2026. LeadGasket texts back every missed call on every plan, and the Voice AI plan at $399 a month adds an AI receptionist that answers calls and books appointments.

What if it doesn't work out?

Email [email protected] within your first 30 days and we refund 110% of what you paid for your plan. Usage charges are not refunded, the guarantee is one refund per business, and a refund closes your account. After 30 days, cancel by emailing us at least 7 days before your renewal date.
